I commonly overuse the word adventure, and consider each day a new one.  One might say I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie, but I'm also a bit of a scaredy cat.  I'll try to make you laugh even if it means making a fool of myself.  Most noticeably, I love to rock fun colored, cheap (or free) sunglasses.  And apparently I apologize more than all Canadians, (I was told this by a group of Canadians so it must be true) sorry about that.

I have been very lucky and have traveled from a young age.  My family used to go on vacations that most people wouldn't experience until they were adults.  So, in that sense you could say I've been traveling my whole life.  But only after some personal loses have I really started to wander the world in a new light.

My father passed away in 2012 and six weeks later my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which she succumbed to in 2015. Following that, I found out I have a tiny brain tumor (don't worry, it won't kill me).  It is on my pituitary gland and is benign, but it was really the final straw.  I had realized just how short and fragile our lives really are.

I reevaluated my situation and realized I hated my job and wasn't going anywhere.  I saw all of these posts on Facebook of trips and places that were on people's bucket lists and I decided I didn't want to wait.  I didn't want a bucket list to possibly regret not having accomplished.  I quit my job later that year and backpacked the east coast of Australia for 3 months. After that, I was hooked and there was no looking back. Now I travel as much as I can.
